You'll fail at things. That's living. What's not living is avoiding failure at all costs. School taught you that failing was a tragedy. But what's actually the tragedy is being SO scared of failing that you never ever try to do something that you could fail at.
People ask:
What would you try if you could not fail?
The truth is that you should ask yourself:
Why am I so scared of failing? What do I believe failing means about me? And is that true?
We ask our kids to try new things. Things they may fail at.
And then we try to avoid failure in our own lives. Yet we know that everything good in our life came from trying something new, talking to someone new, moving somewhere new... all with the possibility of failure.
So why are we so afraid of stepping into the unknown? Failure? Or is it maybe that we're scared of growth and change? Maybe the fear is not of failure, but instead of leaving the comfort of who we are to step into something better.
