Mamas, Less is more.

(Some thoughts after a message I got from a mama this morning asking for advice...)

Mamas,

Less is more.

Less pressure on your kids. Less expectations on them for things that don't matter.

Save the expectations for their character, the way they treat others, the way they speak to themselves...

And put less pressure on grades, on taking the hardest classes they can, on performance.

Yes, expect them to do their best at school... but then be ok when their best isn't all A's. Do not let them equate their worth as a human with their grade on an assignment.

Worth does not fluctuate, grades do.

I don't know that there is anything more important to teach our children than that they are worthy and capable.

If they believe they are worthy and capable... then what could ever stop them? Not a grade, not a mountain to climb, not the fall from the mountain.

People who believe they are worthy and capable see the mountain, they may feel overwhelmed, and then they climb anyway.

They climb because they know they are capable of climbing and they know their worth isn't attached to if they fall or not.

They're willing to fail, they're willing to do the work, they're willing to climb. ❤
